Catholic devotions are spiritual practices that appeal to our emotions and help us grow closer to the Lord. They include many different prayers and acts of piety.
Some examples are the Rosary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Holy Face of Jesus and the Stations of the Cross. Also included would be the use of scapulars, Eucharistic Adoration and veneration of saints.
Practices such as these help the pray-er feel closer to God. They give expression to our feelings of love for the Lord.
Different people will be drawn to different spiritual practices. We may feel called to some ways of praying and not others. We need to pray as the Spirit leads us.
Listed here are some of the more popular and well-known devotions that involve prayers being said. Please check back here often as I will be adding to this list frequently.
I wish you joy on your journey!
